This place is so precious to us. Our mountains, rivers, lakes and meadows sustain us every day. Your Public Utility District plays a vital role in maintaining and improving our infrastructure which in turn protects our environment and ourselves. During my tenure as a Director, we have:
Affordability, cyber security and wildfire mitigation will continue to be a major focus. We are accomplishing these goals while keeping our rates amongst the lowest in California.
If I am re-elected to the board, I will continue to explore ways to bring local clean energy projects to life. I see amazing opportunities in our collaboration with the Climate Transformation Alliance and our facilities master plan. We will also continue to deepen relationships with our local sister districts, non-profits and partner associations.
- Developed a Wildfire Mitigation Plan that is a statewide model
- Incorporated environmental stewardship into our strategic plan and mission
- Completed a greenhouse gas emissions inventory
- Created an Integrated Resource Plan to help us get to 100% renewable energy resources as quickly as possible while keeping rates stable and affordable
- Leaned into the most modern technology to help monitor and harden our distribution system
- Created a scholarship fund to encourage our local students to explore careers in the utility space
- Created and implemented a Power Cost Adjustment tool that allows us to refund customers $$ if we paid less for power than we budgeted for. You pocket those savings. It also allows us to make up shortfalls without dramatic rate hikes.
- Founded and became a governing partner in the Climate Transformation Alliance http://www.climatetransformationalliance.org
- Continued to play a leading role managing and protecting our groundwater basin

ChangeIndividual actions, while vital, cannot do it all. As a community, we need to continue to push for systemic change in our energy generation, networks and vision.
